Preparing Badges for the Ceremony

Step 1: Write each Cub’s name on an Award Kit

Step 2: Remove stickers from back of badges

Step 3: Remove top layer of Award Kit square & press badge firmly onto adhesive area

Step 4: Pull badge from Kit. Badge Magic is now on the back of the badge

Step 5: Tuck excess Badge Magic behind the badge

Step 6: Put badge back into Award Kit area. Award Kit is now ready to give to parents

Introduce the Award Kit to parents

Step 1: On the Pack website, post one of the Badge Magic provided Ceremony-Ready Award Kit Introduction web-inserts found here. Leaders can select from a variety of web-inserts formats to meet their specific website needs

Step 2: Send the Badge Magic prepared introductory email to parents

Step 3: Ask parents to watch the brief 2-minute video at badgemagic.com/awardkit before the next meeting

Step 4: Ask Parents to visit BadgeMagic.com for written “How To” instructions.

Step 5: For Parents who prefer to sew, please give them that option.

Brief parents on how to use the Award Kit at the Ceremony or a den meeting

Step 1: Show parents where to place badges on the uniform

Step 2: Point out the Ceremony instructions contained on the Award Kit

Step 3: Demonstrate how to pinch all 4 corners of the badge firmly when applying badge to uniform

Step 4: At home, it is important to press the badge onto the uniform using scissor handles - Remind parents that using the Kit will eliminate lost badges and last-minute sewing

Step 5: Send the Badge Magic prepared reminder email 

After the Ceremony

Encourage parents to share their photos of that special “proud Cub” moment on social media to spread the fun of Scouting
